Bio:

The recipient of the Carol Burnett Journalism Ethics Prize, Dr. Kostyu has returned to professional journalism, but will remain with the journalism department as an adjunct professor. Before coming to Ohio Wesleyan, he worked as a reporter, copy editor, layout editor, and bureau chief. In 2000, while on sabbatical, Kostyu started working for Copley Newspapers as statehouse bureau chief, covering state politics and legislative issues. In May 2002, Kostyu assumed the post of first vice-president of the Central Ohio Society of Professional Journalists. In 1999, he was the recipient of the National Geographic Magazine Faculty Fellowship. In 1995, he participated in the Institute for Journalism Excellence. Dr. Kostyu has worked on projects for Ann Arbor (Mich.) News, Mansfield (Ohio) News-Journal and U.S. News & World Report.
